teeta: Except some gear becomes outdated, no longer the top-notch gear it once was. Remember great swords and giant swords? Day 1 they were awesome, the nuke of that time. Now they are peashooters. Same with many other types of gear. So while the gear may not wear out, it becomes passe and no longer desirable because there is better gear available.

sins-of-a-saint: Nobody is talking great swords though.
Things like archdevil blade barrier that are still being used only sell for 40c and it takes way more scrolls than 4 to get that title.
Heck I can't even sell my giants dragon crest without practically giving it away.
Which, I refuse to do

teeta: If you buy scrolls, then you could potentially lose on your investment. However, if you hunt the scrolls you use to scroll gear, your investment is negligible. Therefore, you are simply driving up the prices just because you choose to do it. You might just price yourself out of a market for your goods.

teeta: After all is said and done... An item is worth EXACTLY what the buyer is willing to pay for it.

sins-of-a-saint: Funny cause I don't remember ever being able to buy whatever I want for EXACTLY what I was willing to pay. I should try that though. Next time some Hollywood star decides to sell their mansion I will offer them a buck and see how that goes.
Last economics class I took, I was told the price of goods was based on SUPPLY AND DEMAND.
It also depends on how long you are willing to sit on your investment. I don't think Ferrari dealers order cars and move them the next day.
Often they sit their for months.
So if I have the goods and am willing to sit on them.. I can ask what I want.
As far as hunting vs buying scrolls your argument is negligible as well.
I can buy 40 scrolls for 400c or I can hunt 40 scrolls and sell them at 9c a piece all day and still get 360c (far more than if I apply the scrolls to an item and expect to sell said item at a reasonable price)
The fact remains only a certain number of players have the supply and most are not allowing the demand.
If players were not so anxious to give away their gear they might make more off it.
Gear is an investment much like a home.
Adding scrolls for a better title is equivalent to improving your home.
In todays economy many people sell their homes at half their original investment to get out from under it so they can pay their bills.
Last I checked though this game doesn't have bills and is free to play...
So the point of this thread stands true... WISE UP... and don't sell for less than your investment.
(by the way you will be helping the game and dreamer as well)
Feel free to rebutt this teeta.
I graduated with a degree in business management, minored in economics, and am an executive at a large corporation. I will be happy to school you again

teeta: It's mighty paternalistic of you to give me permission to rebutt your self-aggrandizing statements. I graduated from the school of Hard Knocks, a bit more of a 'real' institution of learning. You can try to force feed your contentions to the BD populace all you like. All you are trying to achieve is a monopoly. You are advocating price fixing, plain and simple. Since this is merely a game, that is not illegal. Why don't you climb down off your high horse and breathe the same air that the average, casual player breathes? You might find it enlightening to slum with the rest of us. BTW, I thought Fannie Mae fired you for corruption...
